TECSYS Wins Further in Gas Equipment Market—Set to Replace Dominant Legacy System

MONTREAL, January 19, 2007—TECSYS Inc. (TSX: TCS), an industry-leading Supply Chain Management (SCM) software company announced today that one of the leading providers of industrial, medical and specialty gases, equipment and supplies in North East United States has selected the TECSYS/TrackAbout combined solution to move forward to an industry-specific distribution system, away from its old legacy technology.

With an average capacity of 40,000 cylinders per month, this North East distributor is equipped with an automated and palletized cylinder fill plant in Naugatuck, CT. Additional locations are in Wappingers Falls, NY, Danbury, CT, Berlin, CT, and White Plains, NY, to service customers in the metropolitan New York and Connecticut marketplace.

The company traces its roots back 50 years, its advanced products and services include micro bulk, cryo-storage systems, gas manifolds and piping, bulk system installations, and 100% bar-coded cylinder tracking. It is able to provide the highest quality in products and systems for the bio-tech and high-tech markets of the region, including major customers such as Harvard, Yale, University of Connecticut and New York University.

Prior to selecting TECSYS/TrackAbout, this North East distributor had a captive-industry legacy system developed in the 1970’s. The system is batch-oriented, has no relational database management technology and is very weak in distribution functionality. The system does not provide for access to data in real-time. In essence, management and customer service personnel’s access to vital business information was very limited and delayed by at least 24 hours, making it an ineffective customer service tool.

The combined solution from TECSYS & TrackAbout, delivered via a web-browser, provides real-world, real-time control with minimal IT involvement.
